This past week I went to the showing in the Step Gallery. It was prints all about wood. It was really cool because the artist had several different kinds of pieces in his show. He had pieces about how things the wood piecesfall apart and how things are connected. It was very cool how he showed his subjects disintegrating and some looked like they were almost exploding. It was very cool to think about the different ways things break and come apart. I also found very interesting some of the ways he grouped things together.
The prints look amazing. I love the meticulous details of all of them. It looks like it must have taken forever to make those. My favorite is the one of the tree. The details are just amazing, and the organic lines and realistic feel really appeal to me. The composition looks great as well. It looks like a very interesting exhibit.
I saw this show as well, and was blown away at the tremendous amount of detailing that goes into a series like this. I thought it was very clever to pay homage to wood and its intricate structure...there is so much room for interpreting the organic lines and movement made my wood and its fibers.
The prints are pretty awesome! The amount of miniscule detail is just amazing. Wood itself is tremendously complex in all the grooves and rough textures and the fact that this artist could capture that feeling is way cool.
