Today's Special

This week, I payed a visit to Gallery 100 to see the opening of Bucky Miller's photography exhibit. His photos in this collection focus on the everyday happenings of real life that occurred on a road trip. Not only do the images serve to document his trip, but they also document his own life and the life of strangers in a new place. The thing I like about photography is its honesty and its ability to allow us to see the world through someone else's eyes. Bucky seemed to have a lot of other fans besides me there. Like many gallery openings, this one was a bit too crowded, probably because the freshman ASU100 class was required to go. Overall it was a great experience!

  1. Thank you for posting this! I am definitely intrigued by the idea of "looking through someone else's eyes." Gaining a new perspective on the world we share is always exciting, especially when your view can get a little mundane sometime. Plus, I am a total sucker for road trips. I feel like those are always the ones with interesting photos, memories, and impressions. This exhibit seems like a must-see and I plan on paying it a visit!

  2. I've always had this fascination with capturing moments of everyday life, especially when I'm with my friends or on a trip somewhere. I love to document memories (like from a road trip), so I usually have my camera with me. One aspect about photography that I like is that we are able to see what others have seen that we ourselves cannot see in real life. I'm sure I would greatly enjoy looking at his work since his work seems to epitomize the aspects of photography that I love.

  3. This sounds and looks like it was a really interesting show. I really wanted to go to the opening reception of it. The everyday moments are the ones worth capturing.
